LJM Physical Therapy

Deep Tissue Massage • Acupuncture • Occupational & Sports Injuries • TMJ • Assess, Treat, Rehabilitation.

My name is Lisa May and I am extremely excited to be opening a new physical wellbeing centre, at Tardebigge Court.

My experience within Physical Therapy spans over 25 years, most of which was spent teaching both practical and theoretical aspects of Sports Science and Sports Therapy to undergraduates. I specialise in Musculo-Skeletal injuries and postural issues caused by occupation, accident or sport. I look at the body being able to function in the most biomechanically efficient manner thus enabling the client to deal with every day movements such as reaching for a seat belt or sit to stand without discomfort.

I address the cause as well as the symptoms of every condition and use a variety of treatments ranging from deep tissue massage to acupuncture. I draw on my experience as a personal trainer which enables me to provide detailed rehabilitation programmes, often referred to as “homework!” by clients as they are required to perform specific exercises and stretches at home in-between treatments.
I was a competitive Athlete running for Birchfield and England in the 400m Hurdles, I also swam for Bromsgrove and was a member of the Hereford and Worcestershire County Netball Squad. I am now part of the equestrian world and let a horse do all the work!
I often draw on my experiences within sport to help analyse individuals’ movement or technique, I identify areas of weakness, inflexibility or biomechanical inefficiency and create an exercise programme to strengthen or stretch.

”Highly recommend Lisa. She's an excellent therapist, extremely knowledgeable and explains everything really well. Nothing is too much trouble for her. She has certainly helped me with my 'niggles' and provided top sports massage over past year.”
